Experience Istria from the top of a medieval hilltop town with spectacular views to inspire you. Hear the sound of the fountains and water-gardens wherever you are on the property and relax into the creative process. Enjoy sumptuous meals, an outstanding venue and a workshop with a friendly atmosphere. Your teacher Bee Tin Teoh is an experienced printmaker and artist.
The Art Materials
Quality art supplies are included as part of the workshop package, so you don't have to worry about finding particular brands or having the right things. In addition to this when you arrive you will receive your own kit of professional materials, to take home with you. These supplies pack away neatly into a beautiful traditional gift box, which Bee has custom made for the workshop.
The Workshop Venue
The venue is spacious Istrian stone villa with plenty of work space and outdoor areas. The view from the garden is magnificent: vineyards and olive yards spread over the surrounding little hills, sleepy little villages scattered here and there, rooftops of the houses in the neighborhood... What used to be just a simple small-town Istrian house has now been meticulously redecorated to become a stylish accommodation unit delicately combining various styles and epoques. The place abounds with beautiful little artifacts and design details catching the occupant’s eye at every corner.
The Delicious Cuisine
Gourmet meals are freshly prepared from local produce. The workshop package includes all breakfasts, the welcome dinner and five delicious lunches (please note water is included but not other drinks). After class there is a complimentary afternoon tea with a traditional Istrian treat. For dinner (not included except Welcome Dinner on the first night) you can explore the places to eat in town or the surrounding local taverns.
Draw, Carve, Print and Create
Learn how to adapt your image for linocut, carve the block and print by hand or with a press. Carve using the beautiful tools from your take home kit, included for free when you do the course. Discover the secrets of linocut, adding colour with Bee’s own method of chine colle. Bee is an experienced teacher able to cater to students of all levels and abilities. Make the artwork you want to make, and be mentored through the process.
